Seed to Sprout meditation

This meditation was introduced to me in the fantastic book about personal development, Master Key System(it’s part of the public domain and can be obtained for free all over the web). This was one of the first books of its kind, originally published 100 years ago, and has been a source of inspiration to millions the world over. The fact that it is still relevant today is nothing short of incredible. I highly recommend it.

At the end of each of the 24 chapters, the author provides meditation/visualization exercises that are to help enhance your ability to control your mind, and choose the thoughts and courses of action you would like pursue.  This was one of the meditations provided in a chapter on developing foresight/thought.

Imagine a seed of your favourite flower, and mentally plant it in rich soil, with adequate water, and plenty of sunlight. Become aware of the natural energy of the universe, the energy of growth that allows this tiny seed to burst forth. See the roots shooting out in all directions, becoming embedded in the rich dirt around it.

The sprout is now a living thing. Watch as it gains nourishment and the millions of tiny cells divide and multiply, millions and billions of tiny intelligent beings, taking queue from the blueprint of the universe. All these cells, being intelligent, know exactly how to acquire the things they need for growth and expression.

See the stem shoot upward, and burst from the surface of the earth, and watch it grow and divide into leaves, and tiny stems, each one holding a small bud. Now you see as one of the buds begins to become inspired, and unfold into your favourite flower. As this flower blooms, focus intently, and become aware of the fragrance of the flower wafting through the air.

When you can make this vision clear and complete, you will be able to enter into the spirit of any thought or feeling, and lead it to its natural conclusion. Being able to recognize the consequences of your actions long before they happen is an important ability to possess.

Like a plant that may remain visible for some time after its roots have been cut, negative thoughts and conditions can act in the same way. Withdraw your attention from negative conditions, and they will eventually fade away.

Plant some seeds of love and wellbeing today.

Namaste.

i also like the one from master key that teaches the opposite, you imagine a battle ship, and you actually go further and further back to finally ending with meditating on the concept that without the laws of physics allowing it to float in the water, it would not exist.

Tell me what you think!
